Miami Fire Rescue worked on freeing the driver of a Honda Civic who became trapped inside his car after it clipped the front end of a Rex Chemical delivery truck, according to witnesses.
The Honda had been moving southbound on 27th Avenue just after 2 p.m. Nov. 12 when it evidently clipped the delivery truck that was travelling east on 24th Street, causing the Honda to spin out of control into the northbound lanes of 27th Avenue, where it hit a Chevy Trailblazer head-on.
Damage to the Honda was severe and the unidentified driver injured. He was taken to Ryder Trauma Center and is listed in serious condition.
The driver of the Chevy was not injured, but a female passenger was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital with minor injuries, a Miami Fire Rescue report states.
